Workplace Mediation
When you think mediation might help, or even if you're not sure, give us a shout and we can talk through your options.
A trained mediator helps people in conflict to have a constructive conversation, rebuild communication, and reach their own agreement about how to move forward.
Mediation is:
Voluntary - Nobody should feel pressured into taking part. If someone feels forced then it wont work.
Informal - It prevents long winded, stressful processes like grievances. No notes or records will be kept unless all parties agree.
Confidential - What goes in mediation stays in mediation. Conversations that happen stay between the parties involved and the mediator, the only exception is where there is a serious risk of harm or illegal activity.
Impartial - The mediator does not take sides, make decisions, or judge who is right or wrong. Their role is to support the conversation and help those involved find a workable outcome.
Once referred:
- You will receive a client call to discuss the referral.
- Each party will also receive a call to provide information and answer any questions they may have.
- We will facilitate a full day of mediation (for two people - it may take longer for more).
- We produce mediation outcome agreements.
- You will then receive a follow-up call four-six weeks after the mediation.
If you're not sure if mediation is appropriate, or one party is not in agreement, we can also facilitate conversations outside the mediation process.
